Viva con Agua – water for all and all for water
Viva con Agua is an international non-profit organisation that promotes dignified access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation. This decentralised network of people and organisations was established in St. Pauli in 2006 as a non-profit association and today supports water, sanitation and hygiene projects around the world. Since 2009, there has also been an independent Viva con Agua association in Switzerland.
Viva con Agua’s vision is for all people to have access to clean drinking water, hygiene facilities and basic sanitation. This is also underpinned by the “WATER FOR ALL – ALL FOR WATER” slogan.
The focus is on projects in South Africa, Mozambique, Uganda, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Nepal and Tanzania. How this is put into practice can be seen in the “WASH” measures (WASH stands for water, sanitation and hygiene), which ensure the projects’ long-term success and support the improvement of living conditions in the long run.

Joining forces on a joint mission
As an official partner of Viva con Agua, KWC is committed to the conscious use of water as a valuable resource. Since 2023, the joint mission for clean drinking water and hygienic sanitary facilities has already raised over CHF 16,500 for water projects worldwide. A great success.
The "Water for all" vision was continued in 2024 with numerous measures. From a charity football tournament and a joint awareness campaign on the topic of "saving water" to event collaborations, many exciting activations were successfully implemented.
Next year, KWC and Viva con Agua will continue to strive to improve the quality of life of people worldwide through access to clean drinking water and to sensitise the general public to the responsible use of this vital resource as part of their joint mission.
ON-THE-GROUND SUPPORT FOR SUSTAINABLE IMPROVEMENT
Water projects in Mozambique
KWC supports water projects in Mozambique in cooperation with Viva con Agua
On the one hand, the project helps to build new water supply facilities; on the other hand, it has a strong focus on improving hygiene. In addition, training and further education opportunities for authorities, operators, handicraft firms and water committees are to be enhanced and improved so that the water supply can also be maintained and repaired independently of aid organisations. In addition, basic sanitation is being expanded in schools and health-conscious lifestyles are being promoted through hygiene workshops.
Thanks to the overall project, 50,000 people in six districts within the Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces in northern Mozambique benefit from access to clean drinking water, sanitary facilities and greater hygiene awareness.

Outlook for joint projects in 2025
Step by step towards the donation target
Through the partnership with Viva con Agua and the associated measures, an amount of over CHF 16,500 has been donated to date. This has already been used to support important sub-projects:
With CHF 500.-
can be used to carry out sensitisation work to improve hygiene practices and the use of water points in two villages with around 240 families each.
With CHF 1'000.-
can finance the entire training for one person in well construction or latrine construction.
With CHF 5'000.
can be used to rehabilitate a pump well in a village for 300 people.
With CHF 15'000.
can be used to rehabilitate a complete small water system in a village community of around 3,000 people.
With CHF 25'000.
can be used to repair and expand a water system in a small town for 7,000 people.
KWC is also a member of Viva con Agua’s Social Business Club. The Social Business Club is Viva con Agua’s innovative business network, where like-minded people meet to jointly bring the vision of “water for all and all for water” to life. Entrepreneurs and managers from a wide range of business sectors interact here on level playing field.
